Lawn bowls club obtain wheelchair for use on bowling greens

Hingham Rectory Bowls Club – Lawn bowls club obtain wheelchair for use on bowling greens

Posted on May 21, 2026 by Sarah Landow

Hingham Rectory Bowls Club are pleased to announce that the club are now the proud owners of a Bowls England approved wheelchair specially designed for use on bowling greens. This will be a great boost for any wheelchair bound or less able bodied bowlers to participate in lawn bowls.

The chair has been fully funded by grants from Hingham Town Council and South Norfolk Council to whom we are extremely grateful for their support.

Club Secretary Steve Kitts can be seen helping club member and wheelchair user Ian Bruce trying out the new chair on the green.
